sunset house
Residential
Palm Springs, California
The Sunset House, a retro-inspired contemporary residence defined by soft, curved geometry that fully opens toward the courtyard.
Initial Project Sketches
Spatial Layout
The outdoor concept is organized as a sequence of experiences rather than isolated zones.
Visual focus from the interior is directed towards the pool terrace surrounded by lush tropical gardens, which acts as the central anchor of the outdoor experience.
From there, spaces transition into a covered social area designed for gatherings, following a ping pong area that shifts the energy towards movement and leisure.
Material Direction
The design language blends warm desert tones with bold colors, creating a fun, vibrant atmosphere.
The landscape combines lush tropical vegetation with curated cactus gardens, balancing a vibrant, expressive aesthetic with the dry desert context surrounding the house.
